How To (Not Really) Survive A Morning With A Toddler...

One of the toughest times of the day, for me, is the morning. I am not a morning person what so ever and I doubt I ever will be. For that reason I have to organise our lives so that I very rarely have to leave the house before 11am. If we have to be somewhere which revolves around us leaving the house before 11am this means my hair is in a 'mum bun', my makeup is looking like the dream matte mouse days(does anyone remember this?) and I would already need a shower again from running up and down the house 54 times getting everything together before we leave, but as for Primrose, she'd be looking great not even realising the stress mummy has just been through just trying to leave the house!!
I am all about the easy life! For me a non stressful morning this means one that is full of low maintenance play and ‘that’ll do’ parenting.

Every so often, I have no choice but to face the world before lunch time. So, if your just like me, here are my top tips to make it out of your bed and into the land of the living without hurting nobody;

Primrose now wakes up at 6:59am pretty much every morning, like has she got her own personal alarm going on!?
We then go and get her from her bedroom "Morning Baby Girl" and give her the biggest hug because afterall I adore this little human, then onto mummy and daddy's bed, she gets in the middle with her morning milk watching channel 628 'Disney Junior'. Her new favorite at the minute is 'The Lion Guard' if its not that its 'PJ Masks'. This channel scoring me just under 15 minutes, allows us time to actually wake up, Brush our teeth (Primrose just chomps on her's sucking off all the water and toothpaste) before heading downstairs.

I put Primrose down in the living room, put the telly on and get her toys out for her to explore, allowing me enough time to make a coffee and rustle up a little breakfast for Primrose.
I then deliver my choice of breakfast that day to her highness and see whether she wants to accept my choice today, because, today is a new day after all.
See how I said I was definitely about that easy life! Back to finish my coffee.
The next step is to kick things in to second gear. I’ll look around and shove anything we might possibly need into Prim's bag before picking the right moment and trying to sneak up stairs to get dressed, if anyone knows Primrose, they know this would not be the easiest decision to make, as soon as she realises she's on her own downstairs all hell breaks loose.

Before I go any further I stop to say a short prayer, it’s time to get the toddler dressed.
This is significantly easier if you’ve done some laundry in the past week as you won’t have to dig through their drawers looking for something that matches. Top tip – if nothing I can find coordinates I just pick the outfit that clashes in the loudest way possible, people will think it’s a style - winner winner :).

When I have finally got the god damn clothes on this child!!!!! For the next couple of hours I've basically won! Grab that bag & hit the road!
9 times out of 10 I forget something "God sake that was just on the side why didn't I pick that up!!" But I find as long as you have a little something for them to snack on from raisins to a bag of quavers along with your bank card there’s nothing you can’t really accomplish, right?

My approach to busy mornings is a real winner, for me. Though it is the most stressful time of my day probably. I've come to terms with.... I’m never going to be a morning person!

Does anyone else have the same mornings as me? Let me know in the comments box below, I would love to read them!
